EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf
All master’s programs will take place on EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf – a real-world laboratory and an international showcase for the energy and mobility transition in North Rhine-Westphalia. Established companies and start-ups as well as science and research institutions with around 4,000 employees will work here closely and collaboratively on energy, mobility and sustainability projects. It is the second innovation campus of its kind in Germany. Since 2008, EUREF-Campus Berlin has proven that the energy and mobility transition is feasible and affordable. The Berlin campus has been meeting the Federal Government’s climate protection targets for the year 2045 since 2014.
Both campuses are places where ideas are conceived, implemented and tested for their success. The use of intelligent architecture, regenerative energy sources, new forms of energy storage and systematic networking of state-of-the-art technology, creates an example for metropolitan areas around the world.
EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf represents a unique platform. It offers the community, but also guests from politics, business, science and the public, a broad space for discussions, information exchange and events. The potential for cooperation is enormous. EUREF-Campus wouldn’t be called a campus if all people did here was work. Life on campus essentially takes place in the indoor garden, whose large, daylight-flooded courtyards and spacious green areas provide an inspiring working environment and opportunities for sharing ideas. On the ground floor, restaurants and bistros will offer regional cuisine at affordable prices. The culinary experience also includes something for the eyes: the beautiful view over the Lichtenbroich quarry lake. A beach volleyball court and a swimming pool will contribute to the work and life balance on campus.
Since 2012, around 300 students from Technische Universität Berlin have been studying in four English-language Energy Master’s programs at EUREF Campus Berlin every year. The spatial and content-related proximity of research, teaching and business is a win-win situation for everyone involved. With EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf, the successful concept of networking business and science will be continued in Düsseldorf. Students benefit from the excellent expertise on EUREF-Campus. They can establish contact with the companies, start-ups and research institutions active on the campus at an early stage, exchange ideas on curricular content and develop innovative formats together.
The study programs offer a scientific approach to teaching that takes into account the increasing demand for ever more efficient energy use. The courses are interdisciplinary and strongly geared towards practice. Industry partners support this approach to promote the training of talent.
